If a woman puts her mind to something she will accomplish the same thing, no matter what. The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world, says Anaisha Cooper, Director, Spenta Corporation in an exclusive interview with 99acres.com on the event of Women’s Day.
What do you consider as your biggest accomplishment in the last one year?
My biggest accomplishment in the last one year is the success of the residential project in Thane. Our marketing campaign helped us get unprecedented sales considering the fact that we entered the Thane market for the first time.
Has your career given you opportunities to feel proud about yourself?
‘Proud’ may not be the correct word but it has been very satisfying and fulfilling. I enjoy my work and that is important.
How have you surprised yourself in your career so far?
Each time I embark on a project I surpass my expectations. Having said that, I am only as good as my team without whose unstinted support, the accolades would have not have been possible.
What do you think is the general perception about women in real estate?
It is unfortunate that when you ask me about my ‘perception’ you mean ‘perception of men’. Their perception is of no consequence to me. Women are in every realm of real estate and have been proving their mettle.
Who/what has been your pillar of support?
My father and my brother have been my pillars of strength and support. Their constant guidance coupled with the faith they have bestowed on me, helps me keep going and achieve more.
What are the challenges you have faced as a woman in a male-dominated industry?
Things like ‘male domination’ do not even cross my mind. I am sure that once a woman puts her mind to something she will accomplish the same thing better than any man. The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.
Any tip for women just venturing in real estate?
We are diligent, hardworking, intelligent, resilient and compassionate. These qualities are the recipe for success. My tip to woman is please just be yourself.
