The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has recently launched a separate website for registration of ongoing real estate projects in Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. This portal will allow developers to register themselves and their projects under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA).
It should be noted MahaRERA has been given the responsibility of handling all issues pertaining to real estate activities under the Act in both these Union Territories (UT).
Realty developers and agents in these UTs can now conduct registrations online, saving a lot of time and effort. As of now, no list of approved projects and developers is available on the website. The aggrieved homebuyers can also file their complaints online with the Authority for any violation of the provisions of the Act.
As per RERA rules, it is mandatory that any advertisement for marketing/sale of properties must carry RERA registration numbers.
MahaRERA is the front runner when it comes to the implementation of the Act across the country. Till now, the Authority has received about 13,302 applications for registration. Of these, over 9,100 projects have been allotted RERA registration numbers.
