The Uttarakhand government has finally launched a website for registration of ongoing realty projects under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) across the state. This has cheered homebuyers and developers as the latter can now proceed with RERA adherence while the former will be assured of the protection of their rights.
As per the latest information available on the Uttarakhand RERA website, only six real estate projects have been successfully registered till now. About 40 realty agents have been granted RERA registration numbers for executing business in the state.
However, a regulatory authority to safeguard the interest of homebuyers and take strict action against property developers for delaying projects has not been established yet. To expedite the process of establishment of a regulatory authority, the state government has already invited applications for appointment of a chairperson and three members on or before 22nd September 2017.
