On February 19, 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Government made a crucial announcement regarding organising special camps on Sundays to register stalled housing projects in Noida-Greater Noida. This initiative will be extended to the developers who have agreed to clear their dues as per the recalculations under the Amitabh Kant Committee report. The Noida Authority expects to complete the registration of more than 13,000 apartments through these camps. The first camp has been set at the Express Zenith Society in Sector 77, Noida on March 1 and many more are soon to follow in the coming weeks.

In a recent update, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to waive the stamp duty in case a property is transferred to a family member. Until now, a seven percent stamp duty was applicable on such property transactions.
This was a second relief offered w.r.t to stamp duty. Earlier, the Noida Authority announced the stamp duty calculation as per the carpet area of the property. It wrote a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Stamp and Registration Department to charge the homebuyers on the basis of the carpet area of the residential unit and not on the ‘super built-up area’ to enable transparency.
The Uttar Pradesh government also notified revised registration charges for properties across the State and fixed one percent of the property cost as the new registration fee. The one percent fee would be applicable on properties across all budget segments.
The government demands stamp duty and registration fees at the time of registering the property. It is important to know the current stamp duty rates and house registration charges in Noida.
