To accelerate property registrations post the COVID-19 crisis, the Maharashtra Government announced a stamp duty cut across the State in August 2020. After the announcement, the applicable stamp duty and registration charges in Nashik came down to four percent until December 2020 and five percent till March 2021. From April 2021, the effective property registration fee will be six percent.

Stamp duty and registration charges in Nashik

The stamp duty in Nashik, including the Local Body Tax (LBT), is four percent until March 2021 and the registration charge is one percent of the property value.

In a bid to promote equality, the Maharashtra government has kept the stamp duty and registration charges same across genders. Besides, the charges applicable in municipal limit and beyond are also uniform.

For example

Case 1: Stamp duty and registration charges payable in Jan-Mar 2021

If the property value is Rs 50 lakh then, the registration fee will be one percent, i.e. Rs 50,000 and the stamp duty payable will be four percent, i.e. Rs 2 lakh.Hence, the total amount payable will be Rs 2.5 lakh.  

Case 2: Stamp duty and registration charges payable from April 2021 

If the property value is Rs 50 lakh then, the registration fee will be one percent, i.e. Rs 50,000 and the stamp duty payable will be five percent, i.e. Rs 2.5 lakh. Hence, the total amount payable will be Rs 3 lakh.
