The first building covering over 6 lakh sq ft in the Secretariat complex in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh will be ready by the end of this month, shared P Narayana, state Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development while speaking at South Asia Diaspora Convention in Singapore.
The Secretariat will have its new headquarters shifted from Hyderabad to Amaravati. Meanwhile, the entire complex which includes an office of head of the department and other government agencies is expected to be developed by 2018.
At present, an 18.2 km main road is being constructed and tenders for other seven roads spanning 50 km each will be rolled out. Further, other infrastructure developments such as power, water, and sewerage are also expected to take place in the near future.
Narayana shared that every sector in the capital city which is spread over 8,603 sq km offers great investment potential to attract investments worth $8 billion.
