Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has finalised 32 town planning schemes in the city’s peripheral areas. These schemes are expected to trigger a progressive development for the commercial capital of Saurashtra. The surrounding villages across the city will also be developed, that will in return boost real estate around Rajkot. The town planning schemes have been finalised in areas of Mota Mauva, Nana Mauva, Mavdi, Raiya, Mota Mauva, Munjka, Kotharia and Vavdi. These areas are governed by the gram panchayats and lack essential civic amenities and a proper infrastructure. The residents in these areas often face challenges due to poor maintenance of roads and paucity of water. Majority of the people living in the peripheral regions work in Rajkot city and lack of infrastructure poses as a major hurdle in daily commute. However, with the progress of the town planning schemes, the residents can expect better amenities such as gardens, hospitals, drinking water and roads.
Paresh Gajera, President, Rajkot Builders Association, shared that the implementation of the town planning schemes will ensure development of all requisite facilities. Even new real estate schemes will now get approvals. As of now, there are around 80 residential projects under construction, and an equal number of projects are expected to get clearances. This exponential growth in the number of residential projects under development is anticipated to result in price correction in the future.
