Chennai residents fume over relaying of well-maintained roads

The Chennai Corporation has taken up 36 packages to augment road infrastructure in the city. However, according to city residents, the civic body will relay almost 1,000 roads at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore, most of which do not even require relaying work. Further, it has neglected the Vadapalani and Madhavaram roads that require immediate attention. MahaRERA generates Rs 3.37 Cr revenue in 15 months through complaints

According to records, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has generated a revenue of Rs 3.37 Crore via complaints in the last 15 months. Homebuyers looking to settle disputes through conciliation and adjudication can file complaint against developers by paying a sum of Rs 5,000 and Rs 1,000 to the regulatory authority. The Uttar Pradesh government will be constructing around one lakh houses under the government's ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme in the next six months. The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) has clarified that the amnesty scheme applicants need to approach the Authority for the regularisation of any unapproved plots. The move aims to safeguard the interests of the buyers. In case of any discrepancies concerning the plot deviation from sanctioned approval, the buyers can file a complaint to TNRERA. Centre urges States to claim funds for PMAY

The Central Government has urged 22 States and the Union Territories (UTs) to utilise the financial assistance sanctioned for the development of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Grameen at the earliest. Widows in Bihar to now need SDM approval for selling property

A special committee formed by the Supreme Court of India has recommended that widows in Bihar must seek the approval of the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) for selling a property. MahaRERA to reduce registration fee for developers

The Maharashtra government is planning to reduce the minimum registration amount paid by the developers to the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10,000, as per the area of the project. DDA mulls over revising space for LIG flats

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is planning to construct new one bedroom flats for the LIG (Lower Income Group) allottees of 2014 and 2017 housing schemes.
