To provide affordable housing units to the residents of Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has come up with its new housing scheme 2019. Touted as one of the most popular housing schemes in India, MHADA housing scheme 2019 offers as many as 1,384 affordable housing units across Maharashtra via a lottery system. MHADA is the nodal agency, which is responsible for the overall construction and development of the housing units in the State.

This year, the authority is offering flats with prices ranging from Rs 14.6 lakh up to Rs 5.8 crore under the categories - Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Lower-Income Group (LIG), Middle-Income Group (MIG) and Higher-Income Group (HIG). There would be 63 flats in the EWS category, 126 flats in LIG, 201 houses in the MIG category, and 194 housing units in the HIG category.

Some of the popular localities in Mumbai where MHADA is developing the houses are Antop Hill (278 flats), Pratiksha Nagar (89 flats), Gavhanpada Mulund (269 flats), Mankhurd (316 flats), and Siddharth Nagar in Goregaon West (24 flats).

As per the latest information, the authority has plans to allot 217 flats under the scheme on June 2, 2019, at 10:00 AM. Out of the 217 flats, nearly 46 units are located in Powai, while the remaining flats are in Chembur’s Shell Tower and Sahakar Nagar. Most of these flats fall under LIG category. MAHDA will allot 47 MIG flats on the same date.

MHADA Lottery 2019 Eligibility

The authority has specified certain eligibility criteria to identify beneficiaries under the scheme. Here are the eligibility points that an applicant must know before applying for the scheme.

  • An applicant must be 18 years old or above. No application on behalf of the children would be entertained.
  • Domicile certificate
  • An applicant with a monthly income of Rs 25,001-50,000 can apply for the LIG flats
  • If your monthly income falls between Rs 50,001-75,000, you can apply for MIG flats
  • Those earning over Rs 75,000 per month are eligible to buy HIG flats
  • The applicants must have a PAN Card
