The 16 km-long Hyderabad Metro corridor, running between Ameerpet and LB Nagar, will become operational from September 24, 2018. With this, the Hyderabad Metro will become the second largest metro line covering 46 km after Delhi Metro which covers 72 km in total. The Telangana government has finally launched its RERA official website with full functionality, including making online payments. The State government has delayed the roll-out of the website and authority that impacted the proper execution of norms provisioned under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to serve notices to builders who have not registered their projects under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). The Authority has sent text messages and e-mail alerts to non-registered builders who have sought permission from the civic body to register their projects under the Act. The Hyderabad government has razed out multiple structures identified as encroachments at Afzal Sagar Nala in Nampally and has decided to pay compensation to the displaced people. This is the second time in the last four months when the civic body has raised funds by selling municipal bonds that offer 9.38 percent return with 10-year maturity. Hyderabad to use drone technology to identify illegal constructions

To identify illegal structures across the city, Hyderabad is planning to use the drone technology for the first time. The move comes after the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA and UD) department in a special drive, cleared encroachments from footpaths in Greater Hyderabad. According to MA and UD Principal Secretary, Arvind Kumar, the government plans to identify unauthorised constructions that have come up in 1,000 sq m and above. In Andhra Pradesh, a total of 13,168 houses in Urban Local Bodies (ULB) of seven districts across the State has been completed till date. Overall, the Central government has sanctioned the construction of about five lakh affordable houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
