The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has selected 89 properties under its jurisdiction, which will be put on auction on March 15, 2018. Owners of all these properties have not paid their outstanding property taxes. Most of the properties that will be put under the hammer are commercial. The auction will held at HUDA Gymkhana club in Sector 29.
Officials have stated that tax dues on these properties are in crores. Multiple notices have already been dispatched, but the owners have not paid the outstanding amount. There are 21 properties with a pending tax amount of around Rs 78.3 lakh in Zone 1 within the MCG limits. In Zone 3, about 25 properties worth Rs 77 lakh have been identified.
The Gurgaon civic body is compiling a list of properties with tax dues in Zone-2 and Zone-4. Once the list is prepared, notices will be forwarded to respective owners.
The Authority has also issued a notification stating that auction of properties will not take place in case the owners clear their pending tax amount before or on the date of the auction.
