Road connectivity from Gurgaon to Delhi is set to get a boost as Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) plans to construct another road by this Diwali. The new route will connect the two cities and will shorten the distance for commuters travelling from Dwarka, Najafgarh and West Delhi to Gurgaon. Ghaziabad authority to demolish 650 illegal buildings

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will carry out demolition drive against all illegal and unauthorised properties and buildings in the city. The Authority has sealed around 30 such illegal units so far. The decision to identify and seal illegally constructed and dilapidated buildings was taken after the collapse of a five-storey under-construction building in Akash Nagar in July, taking two lives. Educational setups to get 40 percent rebate on circle rate in Ghaziabad

As per the new circle rates implemented in Ghaziabad for the year 2018-19, the State has abolished the five percent rebate on rainwater harvesting, and offered up to 40 percent rebate on plots that would be utilised for constructing educational institutions in the city. The State will offer the rebate under two slots — 30 percent rebate on plots measuring 1,000-20,000 sq m and 40 percent rebate on plots measuring over 20,000 sq m. Civic body to seal 600 units in East Delhi

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has been instructed by the monitoring committee of Supreme Court to begin a sealing drive for 600 units in Vishwas Nagar and its adjoining areas. KJ Rao, a member of the monitoring committee, shared that the area was inspected and it was found that the properties in these areas were not following the Master plan 2021 and were also causing pollution. Most of these units comprise of godowns and small-scale industries that are responsible for the rising pollution levels. I was also observed that many residential properties were being used for commercial purposes, which is prohibited. Senior EDMC officials shared that an inspection will be carried out, and units violating the DMC Act rules and master plan norms will be sealed. Based on the nature of violations, a two-day notice shall be sent to the property owners so that they can remove their materials and the property can be sealed. The committee has issued directions against 10,000 units violating the…

Noida Authority identifies over 1700 unauthorised properties

The Noida Authority has shared a list of over 1,700 unauthorised real estate properties in several parts of the city. Of all identified illegal structures, 56 properties are found in a dilapidated condition, about 114 buildings have been developed on notified land, and over 260 units are built on the acquired land. Officials have stated the Authority has already demolished 10 illegal buildings. A total of 1,326 unauthorised buildings have been found in several villages in the city. Haryana to offer financial aid to homeless rural families

Rural families of Haryana, who neither own a house nor fall in the list of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), are set to get financial assistance from the State. The Delhi government has recently put its RERA website live to allow developers and agents to register themselves and their ongoing projects with the regulatory authority under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). The Noida Authority has recently served notices to 26 illegal multi-storey buildings in Barolla village and Hindon Vihar on failure of taking any layout approval. Ghaziabad authority seals 200 illegal buildings

Following the collapse of a five-storey building in Khoda, the district administrations of Ghaziabad sealed around 221 unauthorised buildings. A police complaint has been lodged against the owner of the Khoda building. In the Khoda area alone, 78 illegal structures were sealed, and 11 buildings that had developed cracks on walls and pillars were evacuated.  Ritu Maheshwari, District Magistrate, shared that eight teams comprising of sub-divisional magistrates have been formed to carry out inspections for the next few days. Khoda was followed by Loni in the number of buildings that were sealed. Areas such as Modinagar and Muradnagar both had 27 shops and many other buildings sealed, while nine buildings were evacuated and sealed in the Dasna region. Most of the houses in the area were constructed illegally on the government land. When…

The notice declaring them as unsafe was put on a five-storey building in the neighbourhood hours after an under-construction building collapsed in the area.
