Delhi Metro to soon run on solar power

In a first, the Delhi Metro trains will soon run on solar power as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recently received 27 MW power from the Rewa Solar Power Project in Madhya Pradesh. Till date, the DMRC was using solar power produced through solar plants installed in its premises for backup needs such as air conditioning of stations/depots and lighting.
