The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Gujarat RERA) has issued notices to errant developers across the State. More than 300 developers have been penalised by the regulatory authority for not furnishing the mandatory quarterly progress reports over the last nine months. In most of the cases, Gujarat RERA has fined the defaulting developers with a penalty of Rs 50,000 each. Gujarat: Over 33 percent RERA approved projects are affordable

According to the data published on the RERA website, the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Gujarat RERA) has approved around 33 percent affordable housing projects across the State. The authority has sanctioned around 5,200 ongoing real estate projects, so far. These approved projects include both residential and commercial properties. The data revealed that as many as 1,694 registered projects are affordable housing projects. Of all such projects, about 878 projects are purely residential, while 816 are mixed use with residential and commercial units. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) recently issued notices to over 94 builders in the city. The notices were issued to the errant developers who have failed to adopt and implement the green building norms provisioned under the General Development Control Regulation (GDCR). The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is planning to float an official tender for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. The civil works contract is said to be India’s biggest ever and is estimated to be between Rs 15,000 and 20,000 crore. Centre approves Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 project

The Central Government has given its final nod for the development of the 28.5 km long Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Phase 2, linking Gandhinagar to Motera. Ahmedabad civic body scales down 2018-19 budget by 61 percent

After making revisions in its annual budget for 2018-19, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has scaled it down by 61 percent from last year. The civic body, which allocated Rs 1,400 crore for projects such as bridges and roads, drainage system and water supply among others, disclosed that it will now spend just Rs 556 crore as per the revised budget. Gujarat RERA approves 4,691 projects after May 2017

According to Gujarat RERA Chairman, Amarjit Singh, since May, 2017, as many as 4,691 real estate projects, entailing an investment potential worth Rs 1.42 lakh crore, have been approved by the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GRERA). A total of 85 percent of the projects have reached the State regulator’s office, while 75 percent of projects are on track. Gujarat passes ordinance for redevelopment of old societies

In a bid to allow redevelopment of old Gujarat Housing Board societies, the Gujarat government has passed an ordinance to make revisions in the Gujarat Housing Board Act, 1961. The decision has come after the State permitted redevelopment of the private housing societies.
